What is SURJ Chicago?
Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) is a national network of groups and individuals organizing people for racial justice. Through community organizing, mobilizing, training, and action, SURJ Chicago empowers people to participate in a multiracial coalition organizing people to show up for racial justice in solidarity with those most affected.
We envision a society where we struggle together with love for justice, human dignity and a sustainable world.
Why We Organize
Racism is still present throughout all of our contemporary institutions and structures, as well as within ourselves. We know that to transform this country we must be part of building a powerful multiracial majority to challenge and dismantle racism in all its forms.
SURJ Chicago is a volunteer group, which means we’re always looking for people interested in joining leadership. More info, including nomination form, here.
